Week 130 A Pinterest Picture Inspiration

For our recipe this week we have a killer picture inspiration for you.
Are these shoes fab or are they fab?
We'd love to see where these take you!

Chrissie

Here I have a super image from Bugaboo, coloured with Copics and accompanied by a computer generated sentiment! If only I could wear shoes like these, but those days sadly are long over!

Same sentiment, different image. This time with a stamp from Hobby Art! Simply stamped in black, clear embossed and given a frame! There's another on my personal blog!

Jen

I only have one card for you at the moment but I used the picture as inspiration in a different way to Chrissie.  I was inspired by the colour combo, the ribbon and the stripes to come up with this little card.  The sentiment is from a new Stampin Up set, ribbon and paper are also from Stampin Up but are retired.  The punch is the large curly label.

Week 129 Theme

For our THEME this week
we would love to see
Hand made Flowers
You may use any medium you like... felt, paper, card, acetate, fimo, embossing powder, whatever you can conjure up!

Jen

My first card uses one of the new Penny Black dies and I have layered up the iris to give it dimension. The sentiment is from simon says stamp.  The die is memory box.

For my second card I used a die from Die-Namics and cut out in lavender felt. The colour is pool party from stampin up.

Chrissie

For this card I decided to make a little daisy from embossing powder, using a silicone mould.
I heated some WOW Melt it powder mixed with some Sea foam white powder, in a small aluminium  foil pie dish. I heated it from underneath so as not to send the powder flying everywhere, holding the dish using a peg as it gets quite hot.
When molten, I poured it into the mould and waited for a short while until it had set and then turned it out. I coloured the centre of the flower using a Copic Marker.
The tag is stamped and cut with a Sizzix stamp and Framelit, using Versamark and Wow Satin Pearl Gold embossing powder. The backing strip was made using SU Friend background stamp and embossing in the same way, The sentiment is also from SU stamped and embossed in a similar manner.
This one simply has punched flowers, shaped and layered and with a pearl added for the centre of each flower to match in with the embellishments on the background embossing. The flourish is from Dienamics and the sentiment panel from an SU Framelit.

Week 128 One Layer

For our
One Layer Challenge
this week we like to see cards which are
NOT SQUARE or RECTANGULAR

This card is made using some of the goodies I bought at the Portsmouth craft show. The base was made with the largest Sizzix hexagon of my new set of dies which was placed just over  the folded edge of the card, so it didn't get cut off.
The embossing is from a Nellie's Choice folder called Flower Corner, which I simply love for partial embossing of panels for cards etc.
The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

This one began with a similarly constructed card base and stamped with some images from Blockhead stamps. It was coloured with Distress inks using a water brush for the detail and a sponge dauber for the shading.

My first card uses the octagonal spellbinder to cut out this mini card.  I have simply added hexagons and a sentiment both from Clearly Besotted to make this on trend card.  The colours are the new in colours from stampin up and returning pear pizazz.

My second card is made from the fabulous  bermuda bay colour from stampin up and is cut using the star framelit from Sizzix.  The sentiment and mini star are also from stampin up.  I have finished it off with some faux sticthing and a little wink of stella pen on the middle star.

The simplicity and clean feel of this one is awesome.

What fabulous shells, you can almost feel the sand between your toes on this one.

Sand for a Christmas card? Why not! It looks superb!

What a wonderful scene!

Shades Of Grey .. Week 127

It's the first week of the month which two things, a new colour challenge and a new sponsor! This month we are delighted to welcome back Liz from Pink Petticoat as our sponsor.

February Sponsor

On to this months colour challenge. This week we want to see...

Now you don't need to use fifty shades but we would like to see a minimum of two shades on your creations this week. Don't forget that all important white (or grey space).

For my first card, I have used a cute little dog from Penny Black and simply coloured him in cool grey promarkers.  A simple doodle and some grey thread finish him off.

My second card uses Basic Grey card stock and DPs from Stampin up and tow dies from Simon Says Stamp by memory box. I have kept it very simple.

Don't forget to check out my blog to see if you are the lucky winner of my birthday candy!

Here I have mainly used warm shades of grey... not exactly fifty but a few!
The fabulous ginkgo leaf is from a die by Impression Obsession and I love it .
The sentiment comes from a clear set which says STM 2007 and SSC 109 whatever make can that be? I can't remember and I failed to scrawl the make on the carrying sheet!
The rectangles in this are cut with a new Framelit set which I think will be useful, particularly for sentiments!

More die-cutting here on a charcoal card base. This time some Memory Box turtles which I bought at the craft show last weekend only to find that they were reduced on the shop's website on Monday morning! Hey ho you win some you lose some, but three of the dies I bought were reduced... boo hoo!
The sentiment was typed on the computer with Dina's Handwriting font and mounted on Nesties. The scrap of DP has been sculling around for years, I believe it may be Docraft.
